The GrafeeX is a pencil. Sort of. It doesn't contain traditional lead, and you don't have to sharpen it, but it doesn't contain ink either, and there's no need to refill it in the usual sense.
Intrigued? You should be!
Right, let's take a look. The barrel is made from aluminium finished in matt black, a nice, lightweight robust material. So far, so good. The tip is grafeex, which is an innovative material made from sintered graphite particles, and results in a very hard-wearing tip indeed. So hard-wearing that - although the tip is replaceable - you won't have to do that for a very long time. The mark it makes is similar to, but lighter, than that of a normal graphite pencil and erases quickly and cleanly, but as the tip isn't as brittle it won't break.
But it's not just practical, either, it's pretty stylish too. There's a range of pocket clip colours to choose from, which really stand out from the barrel, and they're quite long - about 70mm, almost half the length of the pencil..
It's supplied in a hand-made sleeve made from recycled leather, and the stitching matches the colour of the clip. 152mm long, 12mm diameter, weighs 26g.
